Better safe than sorry – Chimney Berlin obtains ISO 27001 certification

As of August 2016, Chimney has officially received the ISO 27001:2013 certification as one of the first businesses within the creative industries. With the implementation of an effective information security management system (ISMS), the business is now eligible to work for companies with high security standards and assure confidential handling of projects.

The significantly increased physical security, implementation of streamlined business processes and further investment into IT infrastructure assured passing the audit in July. As the ISO 27001 requires continuous improvement, the work does not end here: Regular assessment and further development of security facets will be maintained to provide the highest product and service quality possible.

Chimney also recently passed the audit by operational services GmbH & Co. KG, in order to ensure standards for working with Volkswagen. The even greater measures of the ISO have now superseded the previous audit, in order to meet the increasing demand for cyber security from already existing as well as potential clients.

The preparations and passing the audit have resulted in a leaner and more agile organisation that can quickly react to client requirements, creating the necessary infrastructure for the continuously growing business, as well as being more flexible in the changing advertising and entertainment market. Data security will definitely play an even greater role in the future and Chimney is ready for it.

The White King

The White King, a movie adapted from Gyorfy Dragoman’s award-winning novel, premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival where it was nominated for the 2016 Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film and Best Performance in a British Feature Film. The cinema release will be at the beginning of 2017. With its stylish visuals and high production values, The White King has something for audiences of all ages and perspectives. We are very proud of being involved in this intense film on the "timely story about ideology, indoctrination and the fragility of freedom" (Ian Rankin).

It’s the story of a young boy in a dark, political adult world - foreboding, challenging, potentially deadly - and at the same time holding out hope for a better future. While the film has an arthouse sensibility, with its international award winning cast and powerful performances, it as well has commercial crossover potential.

Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones), Louis Suc, Agyness Deyn, Malachi Hallett (Crossing Lines), William Ahern, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Mitty) and Lorenzo Allchurch (Atlantis)

Directed by Alex Helfrecht and Jörg Tittel
Postproduction: Chimney
VFX by Chimney Germany
Soundpost & Picturepost by Chimney Sweden

Chimney opens a branch in LA

Digital powerhouse The Chimney Group has opened a branch in LA that will be the main hub for the North American feature film and TV drama market. During the past years Chimney has done post and VFX work on international productions such as Her, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and Let The Right One In and continues to see a growing demand for collaboration with US partners such as Scott Free, Annapurna, Sierra Affinity and Working Title.

Thanks to our well-established relationships with regional and national funds throughout Europe and several Chimney branches globally we can meet spending requirements, spearhead international co-productions by accessing financing and be the gateway into the European funding structure for filmmakers all over the world.

Bridging the realm between Hollywood and thriving foreign industry players is not the only reason why we open in LA. We also want to offer Producers, Directors and Photographers based in the US a boutique from where they can supervise local work as well as oversee the post-production work done remotely from Europe and other parts of the world.

Chimney has 350 employees worldwide and is 100% employee owned with a culture that fosters creativity, innovation and joy.Being independent not only gives us the unique opportunity to invest in the projects we believe in, but is also the fundamental reason behind our growth and success. With the LA branch Chimney is committed to continue on this path with dedicated artists that love to love powerful movies.

Animated film created by Chimney Poland wins bronze at KTR Awards

The animated film "With flamingo to the sky" created by Chimney in Warsaw for the Gajusz Foundation has won an award at KTR.

This project is very special to us as the
Gajusz Foundation works to prevent human suffering and helps in situations where no one else could, in moments when one can only hope for miracles. And miracles do happen as many of the Gajusz' children are a proof of.

Created by Karol Belina Brzozowski, the film is a mesmerizing tale full of allegories and symbols that has been brought to life by Chimney's Director Marcin Drabinski and his team. It's a story about a child's death, love, warmth, courage and dignity and features wild dogs, hungry birds, mysterious dark creatures, a flamingo and the little girl hidden in a golden egg.
